I recent made an order from an online retailer.
In their terms and conditions it states if I have a problem with delivery, i need to inform them in writing.
In the context of an item not turning up, i.e. not being delivered, will my sending them an email about it conform with the contractual requirement to notify them in writing?

Yes, a message sent by email will usually be considered “in writing”.
